Jenny Pruitt & Associates and Harry Norman, Realtors have effectively merged, although they will remain separate brands.

Both companies “have joined leadership teams” under the holding company HomeServices of Georgia Inc.

Jenny Pruitt & Associates President and CEO Dan Parmer will now be CEO of HomeServices of Georgia and Harry Norman, Realtors President Martha Hayhurst will be president of the new company.

The agents are unaffected and the brands remain separate, Hayhurst said.

Harry Norman, Realtors and Jenny Pruitt & Associates are Atlanta-based sister companies of HomeServices of America Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate.

Jenny Pruitt & Associates was acquired in October 2001 and Harry Norman, Realtors was acquired in May 2006.

“About a year ago we began merging back room operations,” Hayhurst said. “At the end of the day, the final step was to merge the leadership, which is Dan and myself.”

The only department that will not merge right now is the marketing departments “because that is inherent to the brand of each company,” Hayhurst said. “It’s a natural evolution of the merging of the back room operations.”

Parmer and Hayhurst will oversee the integrated administrative office and support systems.

“Joining the leadership of these two powerhouse companies allows for the sharing of best practices, market expertise and resources while allowing the unique cultures and histories of Jenny Pruitt & Associates and Harry Norman, Realtors to continue independently,” Parmer said in a statement. “I can only see this move as a plus for our customers, Realtors and brands. Pooling our intellectual resources will broaden our platform of opportunities, which will strengthen both of our brands in the Atlanta market.”

With less resources and overhead, the brands can put more resources into “giving customers the best products and services available,” Hayhurst said.

Founded in 1930, Harry Norman, Realtors is Atlanta’s oldest residential real estate firm with 17 offices and more than 1,000 sales associates.

Founded in 1988, Jenny Pruitt & Associates has more than 500 agents in metro Atlanta.

Motivation

Recently while surfing a South Carolina Youth Soccer forum I found the quote above about the MPSC soccer club and about me.

“MP Soccer has a long way to go before becoming a reputable club/fields or no fields. No bragging rights on many teams u14 and up yet they have over 5000 kids in the program. Now they have an immature kid in charge of the academy program. This will fail because he doesn’t have the foresight, maturity, intelligence or the knowledge to make it work. I see big changes with it! ” mpsoccerfan.

Of course I disagree with the posters thoughts, however I have to think that somewhere along the line I most have done something to personally offend the poster. I recognize that it is impossible to make everyone happy in my position. With that said, I’m motivated to try and treat everyone as I would want to be treated.

Hopefully the negative perception the poster holds will be changed one day. For which I’m greatly motivated.

Wow.. What a whirlwind of a summer! I’m so glad to finally be back in Charleston to start the fall season.

The last camp in Carrollton was very relaxing and it was nice to get to see my family and old soccer friends. It seems that I will be back in Atlanta in no time. I will be traveling back for the Atlanta Cup in less than a month. After that, I doubt I will make it back to Atlanta till the holiday season.

The biggest disadvantage to living and working in Charleston is the time I miss with my family. It seems like Charlie has doubled in size each time I see him again. He is a ton of fun to be around right now. He really has a great personality, I suppose that should not be a shock considering who his parents are!

My parents are talking about doing a weekend or more when it cools off here. I think the time away from Atlanta could do them well..

My secret plan is to talk my entire family into moving to Charleston. I could see my parents, retired living the relaxed Charleston lifestyle. Not to mention, Chad would make an excellent addition to the Seacoast staff. Hey.. I can dream right?

CGSA Team Camp- Savannah, GA: Monday 7/28- Friday 8/1.

Crew Team Camp- Carrollton, GA: Saturday 8/2- Wednesday 8/6.

MPSC Futsal Camp- Mount Pleasant, SC: Monday 8/11- Friday 8/15.
